Emotion

I have always been a sucker for stories. At a young age, I was devouring just about any book I could get my hands on. As an adult, I regularly indulge in books, articles, live storytellers, music, movies, true crime podcasts. Of course, isn't that what we all want? To consume stories, to tell stories, to live a story.

And how do you connect to a story? Emotion.

My style is based on these two core elements: storytelling + emotion.

The story is captured through the moment. Since I started shooting in 2016, it has been my chief aim to capture real moments by shooting photojournalistically. I don't want your wedding day to fit into a mold. I don't want it to be confused with any run-of-the-mill wedding day. Your story is unique to you, so your photos should be, too.

The emotion comes through the light and tones. Overall, my editing leans towards an earthy + cinematic style. I have personally always found this type of style to be both beautiful & emotive. I grew up on BBC programs; these programs, film, European photographers, and the light of drizzly, cloudy days are what have most influenced how I edit my own photos. Furthermore, I believe that this filmy, cinematic style is timeless and won't age the photos that you'll pass to next generations.

About Me

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to look through my site! By this point, you definitely know that I'm a wedding, portrait, & relational photographer, you've probably looked through some of the photos, checked out my pricing, and now you're just wondering who the person behind the camera is.

First of all, my heart's main desire is to creatively help others. As a daughter of God, I believe that the Lord created me with a core need to help others while giving me a natural inclination towards creative outlets (ENFP, enneagram 2). So, my business "mission statement," as it were, is to help others through photography. Whether that means to help build their confidence, be a listening ear, or simply to reflect back the joys in their life, I hope to be a helping hand to all who work with me.

I came to photography by a strange and winding path. I headed off to college (UGA - go dawgs!) in 2013 with dreams of being a middle school choir teacher. 3/4th's of the way through that degree, I decided that teaching was not for me. I went through a few phases: filmmaker, editor, music journalist. In the end, though, my path brought me to photography. I never took a single class specifically on photography; rather, I credit the vast majority of my photography knowledge to my now husband, Casey.

I love photography. I love essentially hanging out with people, capturing their lives, spreading joy, and creating beautiful art AS A JOB. What a truly amazing blessing.
